How do I join CVA?
There are no membership fees or participation requirements, just veterans from all branches working together to make KU better! To join simply come to a meeting (listed on our calendar). Having been deployed is not a requirement. All current and former service members are welcome! For more information contact us.

Where is the Veteran's Lounge?
It is located in room 306 in the Burge Union. The lounge has several computers (with CAC readers), connected to a printer for you to use free of charge. There is also a television, sitting area, and study area. This is a great place to study or just relax between classes!

Is there a student veteran I can talk to about KU/Lawrence?
The VA office on campus has recently launched a veteran sponsorship/mentor program in which many of our members participate! You will be matched with a fellow veteran with who you can call, e-mail, or meet with to discuss any issues you have questions about. Some common questions/discussions are: How the enrollment process works at KU, the stress of coming to college for the first time as an older student or returning after a long period of time, and the location of things in town. If you would like to participate e-mail kuva@ku.edu.

How do I become a sponsor/mentor?
The student veteran mentor/sponsor program is designed to match new student veterans with current student veterans and faculty and staff who are veterans. The goal is to assist new students in the transition from the military to college and also for new students who may be transferring from another university to transition to KU. In order to match individuals with similar experiences we ask that anyone who is interested provide the following information:
